Embarking on a Journey of Revival- Cultivating Banana in Wilderness

Between 2019 and 2022, we discovered a 24-acre plot of agricultural waste land in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, known as Tanjung Ipoh. This area falls within one of the driest and most challenging regions in Malaysia.

In the past, this land was used for cultivating corn and cassava. Improper farming practices, excessive use of chemical pesticides, and soil degradation resulted in rampant fungal growth, rendering the soil unsuitable for any crop cultivation for many years. However, this very condition perfectly aligns with our research focus on soil remediation and banana cultivation.
🔽This land is located near the riverbank, and its high sand content makes it unsuitable for banana cultivation. Thorough soil remediation is necessary before planting can proceed.

🔽What makes this land precious is the presence of a clear river that flows through the entire farmland. Where there is water, there is life!

This patch of land seemed to hold a grudge against banana cultivation—soil pH of 5.3, some parts even solidified due to acidification, lacking organic matter, and biodiversity nowhere to be found. Yes, this barren land was our chosen starting point.
🔽The soil appears grayish-white, resembling fragments of limestone slabs, with large and hard particles, and extremely poor water retention capacity.

🔽In this scorching, drought-prone land, our water pipe irrigation system played a crucial role. Not only did it supply water for regular watering, but it also allowed us to inject any EF liquid additives, tweaking the plant's nutrients at our whim.

🔽Wild plants are like the skin of the soil, and with the help of EF soil restoration technology, just 40 days later, the once acidic, parched, and hard soil transformed into moist, warm, and rich black soil.

🔽Banana saplings are cultivated in-house, utilizing EF's special materials to increase leaf thickness and enhance environmental resistance.

🔽We didn't use any herbicides; instead, we let wild plants grow naturally in the banana grove. Nearby farmers were skeptical, saying, "These people must have no clue about farming! The nutrients will all be snatched away by weeds, and those bananas won't survive!"

🔽Despite being covered by wild grass, the banana saplings are still growing healthily.

🔽This is the EF fertilizer formula laid amidst the dense vegetation in the banana plantation.

Contrary to their doubts, the soil, after restoration, presented an astonishing diversity of life. The high absorption rate of nutrients from various fertilizers led to bananas not only growing at breakneck speed but also thriving and towering tall.
🔽The first generation of banana trees had very thick trunks.

🔽As the banana trees grow taller, they provide shade, restricting the height of the wild grass to just below knee level, making it easy for patrolling around.

🔽Despite growing in a wild environment, the third generation of bananas remains healthy and nutritious, unaffected by the wild plants. In the seventh month of cultivation, the bananas had grown tall, resembling giant umbrellas. It was then that we first sensed that bananas could speak. As the gentle breeze rustled through their leaves, it seemed to carry a whispered conversation between all living things. Nature's harmonious frequency resonated, and it felt as if humans truly merged with the natural world. A profound connection was established between humans, plants, and animals, bringing complete solace and release to our minds and souls.

🔽95% of the fruits are Grade A, presenting excellent appearance.

🔽The Cavendish bananas grown using Earth Foods' technology have a rich and sweet flavour with a firm and refreshing texture, thanks to the fertilizer formulation containing at least 22 different elements, contributing to the abundant taste.

Who would have thought that this unforgiving land could be tamed with some quirky science and a sprinkle of humor? The once bleak patch now boasts a lush and vibrant banana oasis that has left even seasoned farmers bewildered and scratching their heads in amazement. After all, in the world of agriculture, sometimes, thinking outside the box yields the sweetest fruits.
