Dual-Tier Irrigation (DTI) Innovation: Bringing Chili Peppers Back to Their Prime

🔽Plant life is getting shorter and shorter: The lifespan of chili plants has dramatically shortened! It’s now an average of only 6 months!
Contrary to botanical evidence, which suggests that the lifespan of chili plants is actually 3 to 5 years (some varieties even lasting up to 15 years), this development is quite shocking and unprecedented.

🔽Fighting Against Diseases & Pests
The entire life of chili peppers is a constant battle against diseases and pests. In equatorial regions, chili cultivation faces pest management challenges from the 4th month when flowering begins. Unfortunately, a significant portion does not survive beyond the 6th month due to diseases and pests.
🔽Earth Foods Solution: Dual-Tier Irrigation System (DTI)
Beyond 6 months! A solution to restore chili peppers to their normal lifespan within a few years. There is also the bonus that it is organic farming!

🔽DTI Application Concept
All EF products are organic based, none of synthetic chemicals.

🔽Chili Cultivation Comparison
No | Description | Conventional method | Earth Foods Chili (DTI) |
1. | Growing Cycle Life Span | Approx. average 6 months | More than 18 months |
2. | Continuous harvesting | Periodical | Continuous |
3. | Chili quality | Mixed grades | Straight chili with Grade A quality (1 plant harvest 1.47kg per month) |
4. | Diseases | Pests and diseases broke out from the fourth to the sixth month, making control difficult and forcing termination of the plantation by the sixth month. | Pests and diseases became easier to control, allowing for normal growth and continuous harvesting. |
5. | Toxicity | Chemical Pesticide & Fungicide is needed | Using EF specially formulated organic repellent as the replacement of chemical pesticide & fungicide. |
Sustainability | NA | Yes |
The implementation of Earth Foods DTI program extends the growth cycle of chili trees from 6 to 18 months, contributing to both economic efficiency and agriculture sustainability by prolonging the harvesting period.
🔽First DTI project is carried out in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
This is an initial observation for DTI, and excluding the initial 4 months of the growth period, it has been continuously harvested for 16 months now.

🔽The chili pepper trees seem to have turned into a dense jungle, but upon closer observation, there are still numerous chili pepper fruits hidden inside, growing healthily, and the yield has not decreased.

🔽This experiment does not involve pruning branches and leaves; the chili pepper trees are allowed to grow naturally. The main focus is to observe whether healthy chili peppers can still grow beneath the dense foliage.
The trunk has been getting taller, and the leaves denser. We anticipated that after over 20 months, it would become increasingly challenging to receive sufficient sunlight. Therefore, this experiment was halted in September 2023.

🔽The quality of the chili peppers is still very good, maintaining an A-grade status. Our conclusion is that as long as regular pruning of branches (maintaining height) is maintained, and there is a larger spacing between tree plants, it can ensure a more abundant yield.

🔽Sep 2023 until Nov 2023
Location: Batu Tiga, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.
Organiser: Agriculture Department of Selangor.
Trial: Harvest comparison between the traditional chemical method and Earth Foods DTI.

🔽EF chilies are robust, diseases are easily controlled.

Dual-Tier Irrigation System (DTI) is Earth Foods' Solution to restore chili peppers to their normal lifespan.
Features: Fully organic cultivation method for greenhouses.
Nutrient solution: Uses EF formula organic liquid, replacing traditional fertilizers (AB fertilizers that require mixing and dilution before use).
Strong leaves and roots: A reinforced formula specifically designed for the growth of leaves and roots.
High-nutrition crops: Produces crops with full nutrition, which are not only more nutritious but also exceptionally delicious.
Low pesticide usage: No need to apply bacterial pesticides.
Extended growing period: Plants are strong and healthy, with prolonged lifespan and fruiting period due to the absence of disease interference.
This system is not only suitable for growing chili peppers but also for any plants that can be grown in cultivation packs, such as tomatoes, flowers, strawberries, and more.
